Westmount has been described as one of Canada’s foremost residential communities. Westmount is an upper class anglophone municipality on the island of Montreal and just south-west of the Mount-Royal (it is actually surrounded by the city of Montreal with the downtown to the east, the St-Henri district to the south and the Notre-Dame-de-Grace district to the west.) The municipality includes Murray Park and Westmount Park, offering a full range of recreational services.
As with neighboring Outremont, homes become more luxurious the higher they are placed on the mountainside. Lower Westmount offers a wide range of townhouses, apartments and condominium housing near rue Sherbrooke and Greene Avenue, both of which have a wide variety of stores.
Westmount is a residential enclave within the territory of the New City of Montreal in Quebec, Canada. It lies within walking distance of the downtown core of the city, yet retains an air of tranquility and small-town community.
The community lies over one and a half square miles on the western slopes of Mount Royal. It encompasses an urban forest, numerous parks and playgrounds,
